Billic has 4 games

If bottom 3 at xmas he has to go and gate saying that but because board have a lot of blame to take for this for being so tight and blowing 20 mil on a player that is just not a striker in Ayew

But Billic has just lost plot with his formations this year and for me the training is not intensive enough as look so unfit and picks no up muscle injuries because of it

Hard times ahead and a shame as thought we might actually kick on for once

Will tell

That's weird because for the first part of last season we were often terrible in the first half and Far better after half time!

Re: Billic has 4 games
I never thought I'd say this about Bilic but I really do feel this season has shown him to be lacking in some respects. That doesn't mean he needs firing mind.

His selection of players to buy has been found seriously wanting last close season. I think the owners will not forgive Slav for wasting huge amounts of their money.

For a long time now including some games last season, I noticed that we are rarely up for it after half time. We don't always let in goals but are often struggling to get going again. I read this to mean that Bilic isn't a good motivator...

In fact didn't Kouyate say something like that in a Senegalese newspaper that the Senegal manager was a much better motivator?

The truth is that Bilic's time is going to be limited because he has bought a poor lot of players and even those that could be decent are injured. I doubt that he will get fired before or immediately after Christmas because Sullivan & Gold don't like firing people.

But I wouldn't have any amount on him staying next season...

Next year, quite a lot of our own fans won't give a shit.

It will not sell out next year I don't think.

Very true Sniper. For us, playing at the OS was a big game-raising occasion once. And we even blew that by having 3 official openings. But for everyone else in the league, playing at the OS for the first time is a big game-raising occasion. So we are up against highly-motivated teams 19 times at home. Hopefully, next year nobody will give a shit - unless we are in the Championship.

I agree that changing stadium has a bigger impact than people realise - until the players feel at home there it's essentially like playing in a neutral stadium for a cup final. Man City struggled when they got their new stadium as well.

But having said that, the formation and setup this season has been constantly woeful. The matches we have won have been scraped together - Chelsea in the league cup is the only one where we really deserved it.

Defensively we are an utter shambles. But that's as much about the setup of the whole team not just the back 3 or 4 or 5. And we offer no attacking threat at all other than set pieces. Whoever plays up front is so isolated - the midfield seem to not only fail to offer defensive support but also fail to get forward enough either.

On the plus side, his hair transplant is coming along nicely.

At this stage under Roeder and Grant lots of people were still defending them and saying they shouldn't be sacked.

Re: Billic has 4 games
Face, the thing is under both Roeder and Grant even at this stage we all knew we were doomed. That is not the case yet with Bilic and whilst we are in touch with teams above us I believe his job is safe........only till the season ends though.

Sven Roeder 11:30 Thu Dec 1
Re: Billic has 4 games
There comes a time when a manager should be sacked.

Pardew's was after the pitiful 0-4 at Bolton - DONE, Stayed up
Roeders was when we were 1-4 behind to Leeds at h/t - NOT DONE , Relegated
Grant's was 10 mins into the game at Anfield after he sent out a joke formation - NOT DONE, Relegated

Bilic needs to survive the next two games which have the potential to be catastrophic performances that match the above TIPPING POINTS.

If we lose the next two games, which is likely, we will be worse off than the same time under Grant and Roeder. And the season Pardew got shown the door.

We didn't renew Allardyce for coming 12th, so can't see Bilic getting another contract unless he pulls something special off.

Re: Billic has 4 games
I wasn't convinced with his appointment, but he demonstrated an ability to get a team to gel last year. In particular, his man-management seemed impressive. Tactically though he has often looked a bit one dimensional; concede possession and hope to weather attacks and hit on the break. It works on occasion, but isn't the football I like to watch too much of. It's also a bit risky because the more of the ball your opponents have, the greater the risk that the bounce will go their way and you will concede.

Those percentages aren't favouring us this year, probably not helped by how toothless we look on the break.

We beat Hull and Burnley and we half way up the league. Yes we want more but relegation talk is 'ollocks.

Hull and Burnley at home are huge. Get a surprise win against Arsenal or the scouse and we will be much more optimistic.

Re: Billic has 4 games
Utter BILGE.

The club is going through an enormous change.

The new home has a fucking MASSIVE impact on the whole squad - and don't give me any "Just man up" bollocks - for the whole playing staff this really is uncharted territory and a new manager won't suddenly bring a map with him to make it all right.

It hurts, but I'd stick with Bilic if I had any say with it. Whether you wish to play the "He got lucky" last year card (to score points and make you look "da man"), that's down to you, but the solution (and automatic premiership success) does not come guaranteed with a new manager.

Two of those managers from newly promoted sides so you usually expect them to be in the mix and I'm sure there fans expectations are to finish 17th and above will be a good season. Sunderland have struggled for the past 2 seasons, and rumours were spread that Moyes' time was up before they won 2 in row. Swansea have exceeded there position in seasons past due to having good managers who have gone on to bigger clubs. Bradley, time will tell though not looking good.

Re: Billic has 4 games
I didn't say that sticking with Grant worked, I simply said they do not have a tendancy to hire and fire. we are not in the same position as when we had Grant ware we.

Let's also be fair and most of the people saying out him after x number of games, would have had him tied to a 20 year contract for life contract, this time last year.

I suggest we accept he is going to be here for the next 2 years, and I am happy is he is, and we actually start getting behind him.
